Sometimes all you really need for good food is fresh ingredients and simple condiments. Want something homemade, yet light and quick after a tiring day at work? Try simply poaching this squid dish. Be flexible with your condiments, it could be Asian, western, spicy etc. It simply goes well with all your favourite sauces!
Rinse the squid in tap water. In a pot, boil some water and add some salt.
Place the squid inside for around 45 seconds, remove and place in ice water immediately.
Let it cool down completely and serve going with your favourite sauces. Here we have Japanese soy sauce and wasabi.
- PS Do not place the squid in boiling water for too long because it will become very rubbery if overcooked
- PPS Depending on how strong your stove and amount of squid, your water is unlikely to reboil with ingredients inside after 45 seconds. Don’t worry about it the squid will still be cooked fine
